Armed Separatists Kill Four Security Operatives in Nigeria’s Ebonyi State

Suspected separatist militants, believed to be connected to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement, fatally shot six individuals, including four police officers, in Ebonyi state, southeastern Nigeria.

The tragic incident unfolded near a police checkpoint close to Abakaliki during the early hours of Friday, leading to a fierce clash resulting in the deaths of four officers and two civilians caught in the crossfire.

The armed assailants responsible for the attack are currently evading authorities.

Meanwhile, in the Northeast, President Bola Tinubu is contending with insurgent violence, while labelled “bandits” pose a threat in the Northwest.
