The Screen Actors Guild of Nigeria has confirmed the release of two of its members, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel (Agbogidi), who were abducted in Enugu State. In a statement shared by Monalisa Chinda Coker, the union’s communications director, on Wednesday, the union informed the public that the kidnappers were “touched by the Spirit of God” and released the thespians.

The statement read in part: “This is to inform the public that abducted actors Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel have been released. , unharmed. “On behalf of their families, the National President sincerely thanked the Nollywood industry and Nigerians in general for their support and prayers at this difficult time. He urged members to be aware of safety on and off film sets and to take precautions for their safety at all times.

Okereke and Agbodigidi were reported missing on Saturday when family members were unable to reach them after working on a film set. The kidnappers demanded a $100,000 ransom, according to the guild’s national president. According to Rollas, while a total of N1.2 million levied, the abductors mocked their efforts.
